I tell people this all the time. The scary part?
There are lots who don’t believe me.

The secret to happiness is having low expectations. Its the ability to wake up every morning and not expect an incredible day but simply expect an average day. When your day takes its turn and begins to be extraordinary we become satisfied with and are immediately consumed by happiness. The problem begins at the problem that as each year passed we begin to get further and further from this happiness. As time progresses we suddenly begin to chase perfection. A store that offered only one type of sneakers now offers 20, a phone that had only 4 functions now has 400. We set our expectations higher because we begin to learn that that is an acceptable thing to do. Why not right? We have so many options why can’t everything be as close to perfect as we can get. But thats the problem. When we expect perfection we’re disappointed when we get something short of that. As long as we have these many options, as long as we continue to chase perfection in our society we’re just straying further and further from it.
